SERVPRO of East Dallas has been in Dallas, Texas for many years. We have seen fire damaged homes, businesses, & more. Dallas, Texas has had its share of significant fires throughout its history. Here are a few notable fires that have impacted the city:
1860: The First Big Fire: One of the earliest major fires in Dallas occurred in 1860 when a fire destroyed several blocks of wooden buildings along Main Street. The fire prompted the city to establish more stringent building codes and regulations.
1872: The Second Big Fire: Another devastating fire struck in 1872, resulting in the destruction of numerous businesses and buildings in the central business district. This fire led to further efforts to improve fire safety measures and infrastructure.
1908: The Adolphus Hotel Fire: The original Adolphus Hotel, a historic and luxurious hotel in downtown Dallas, suffered a major fire in 1908. The fire led to significant renovations and the eventual construction of the current Adolphus Hotel.
