Tornado Hits Dallas, TX
11/13/2019 (Permalink)
Ten tornadoes rolled through the heart of Dallas on Sunday, November 20th around 10pm. Wreaking havoc on homes, stores, restaurants, churches, office buildings, and schools, thousands of people were left in shock and awe at the devastation on Monday morning.
Many students stayed home from school that Monday, and many days after that, due to extensive damage to their buildings. One small private school was in the direct line of one of the tornadoes that night and had extensive damage. SERVPRO of East Dallas was called that morning to come in and assess the damage and start the drying and clean up process. Our team was there within minutes extracting water, placing dehumidifiers, and cleaning up debris. Over the next week the halls and classrooms were dry, debris from damaged ceilings and walls were cleaned up, and the staff was able to get back in the building safely.
This small school has a long road ahead with the rebuild but we are thankful we were able to help alleviate some of the initial stress of such a devastating situation.
